Moldova to Assist Migrants in Starting Businesses
OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2014. The Edinet-based branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) will assist migrants willing to start or develop their business. An agreement to this effect was signed between the regional branch and the project titled “NEXUS Moldova - Strengthening the Link between Migration and Development: Testing an Integrated Service Provider to Moldovan Migrants and their Communities”.
According to the director of the Edinet-based CCI branch, Ina Stanciu, the agreement aims at strengthening efforts of the two partners to enhance and facilitate the citizens' access to quality services for all stages of the migration process.
"Our partnership will catalyse carrying out training, economic and social rights activities in the region. Besides the information exchange and providing consultancy, we will organise and participate in fairs, exhibitions, conferences, roundtables and other events. The Edinet-based CCI branch provides expertise, evaluation, certification, customs clearance, translation, training, fast mail and other types of services. These services are relevant for the Moldovan migrants who want to invest in a business or a social project, to develop their entrepreneurial abilities or promote their business", said Ina Stanciu.
NEXUS Moldova manager Zwanger Franci, said the partnership with the Edinet-based CCI branch would serve as stimulus for the economic and social development of the region. "NEXUS Moldova is a prototype initiative that provides practical solutions to help Moldovan migrants through an integrated services platform that enables better communication and community development. For its part, the Edinet-based CCI branch is an independent, non-governmental organisation, meant to support the business environment. We have many shared goals and our cooperation is welcome", said the manager.
NEXUS Moldova is a project funded by the European Union and co-financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation; its main partner is the International Agency for Source Country Information (IASCI).
