Presidents of Ukraine, Belarus Discusse Bilateral Relations
OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2014. The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko conducted a phone conversation.
Petro Poroshenko thanked Alexander Lukashenko for facilitating a tripartite meeting of the contact group to resolve the situation in the Donbas, involving the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Ambassador of Russia Mikhail Zurabov and the OSCE Representative in Minsk July 31. The Head of State expressed the hope that these consultations may continue and bring specific results.
During the conversation, the presidents of Ukraine and Belarus discussed a wide range of political and economic bilateral relations, including the removal of the artificial barriers in mutual trade.
The President of Belarus assured the President of Ukraine, that Belarus considers good relations with Ukraine a priority of its foreign policy and foreign economic relations.
The Presidents agreed to continue dialogue on a regular basis regarding cooperation projects at the bilateral and multilateral level.
