Emergency Responders from 12 States Attend BNSF’s Specialized Training
OREANDA-NEWS. Emergency responders from 12 states attend specialized training Thirty nine local emergency responders from 12 states are attending a three-day, hands-on field training exercise this week that will prepare them for managing incidents related to crude oil trains.
This one-of-a-kind training is being conducted at the railroad industry's private training and research center, the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI) in Pueblo, Colo.
BNSF is underwriting the travel and training expenses for more than 700 local first responders in 2014 to help ensure they're ready to address the unique characteristics associated with crude-by-rail transport in the communities it services. The three-day classes started in July and will continue through December.
