State Security Council of Turkmenistan Holds Meeting
OREANDA-NEWS. August 07, 2014. President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council. The meeting agenda focused on the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for seven months.

Gundogdyev, Minister of Internal Affairs I. Mulikov, Prosecutor General A. Hallyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court B. Charyev, Minister of Justice B. Muhammedov, Chairman of the State Customs Service A. Hojamgulyev, Chief of the State Service for the Protection of Security of the Healthy Society A. Osmanov and Chairman of the State Migration Service D. Bairamov presented the reports on the work done in January-July.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of maintaining a favourable social and political climate and securing the rule of law and focused on the need to strengthen discipline and ensure the purity of the ranks of law enforcement agencies, the specialists of which must set an example of courage, commitment and fidelity to their military and civic duty.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces instructed the high-ranking officials to ensure the high level of organisation of the celebrations in honour of the anniversary of the border troops of Turkmenistan.
Emphasizing the absolute relevance of the long-term objectives set for the military and law enforcement agencies, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Ministry of Defence to continue to pay special attention to military and patriotic education of young warriors.
Emphasizing the critical importance of large-scale work carried out over past years under the National Programme to combat drug trafficking and assist people addicted to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for 2011-2015, the President focused with satisfaction on the effectiveness of joint activities of the law enforcement agencies, health and education institutions and major public organisations, whose concerted efforts were bringing the best possible results.
Emphasising the contribution of the military and law enforcement agencies to maintaining cohesion and peace in the country for the benefit of the people, the Turkmen leader said that the Turkmen state would continue to pay priority attention to improving the conditions of life and service of military servants and their families in accordance with the Military Doctrine that is purely defensive in nature.
The President of Turkmenistan signed the documents on the appointment and dismissal of prosecutors. Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting of the State Security Council.
