OREANDA-NEWS. ASTARTA's subsidiaries successfully harvested early grain crops. More than 220 thousand tons of grains were harvested (including c. 200 thousand tons of wheat of higher food grades) from the area of about 45 thousand hectares. The average yield of wheat is 5 tons per ha, barley - 4,8 tons per ha. Best farms obtained above 6 tons per ha of wheat and above 5,3 tons of barley per ha.

High yields were contributed to by top operational efficiency and well balanced investments in production assets. Among other things, business units of ASTARTA in Western regions used high quality sowing material from a seed treatment plant in Volochysk (Khmilnytsky region) which was launched by the Company earlier this year. ASTARTA's farms in Eastern regions continue using own top quality seeds from similar plant in Shyshaky (Poltava region) which was put in operation several years ago.
