OREANDA-NEWS.  August 06, 2014. From now on, interactive screens have been launched in 31 petrol stations of Statoil. At Statoil petrol stations, customers will receive uniform information, promptly updated from a single centre – on the screens they will see the latest announcements about discounts, best shopping offers, and will hear music regularly played on the Statoil Internet radio. These possibilities have become available as a result of the implementation of an IT solution, which is the first of its kind and scale in the petrol station sector in Lithuania.

The interactive screens, which are gaining worldwide popularity, were installed by TEO, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services in Lithuania, together with its partner – BMK, a leading provider of video and audio solutions.

"We are constantly striving to be innovative and to improve communication with our customers by informing them about our products or services. We have been looking for partners who would be capable of implementing digital communication solutions at our petrol stations – so TEO and BMK have become our partners. The implementation of this project has opened up many new possibilities. For example, now we can play our selected music at all of our petrol stations. The playlist will be created so as to meet the rhythm of our customers’ life: faster music will be played in mornings, and calmer music – in evenings", - Povilas Vinzanovas, Head of Marketing and Communication at Statoil Fuel & Retail Lietuva, says.

The specialists, who implemented the project, say that the innovation implemented at Statoil will make it possible to save time and money in distributing video and audio advertising or other digital content, to more promptly respond to market or internal changes, and to create value for customers. The screens will be easier and faster controlled.

"By developing IT innovations, we aim to create value for our business customers. The solution implemented at Statoil helps save resources, while at the same time makes it possible Statoil to stand out from its competitors and to build a uniform image across the whole of Lithuania. Together with our partners, we have found a solution how to handle large data flows and to ensure the highest quality of centralized round-the-clock management and transmission of information to petrol stations operating all over Lithuania", - Aleksandras Samuchovas, Head of Business to Business at TEO, said.

The solution implemented at the 31st Statoil petrol station included installation of the interactive screen technology called Digital Signage, installation of innovative video and audio equipment from the world’s leading manufacturer, installation of a network, and creation and installation of the Statoil Internet radio. The system’s distinguishing feature is its ability to operate without interruption twenty-four hours a day.

"This solution allows Statoil specialists to manage information and promotional announcements at petrol stations, to create playlists and content display rules not only from the central office, but also from mobile devices. The system’s operation and maintenance is very simple", - Vilius Jurgelevicius, Project Manager at BMK, says.

According to V. Jurgelevicius, the system is distinguished by its numerous content creation and publishing functions. Its user is able to perform real-time monitoring of information on the screens, to receive reports for outdoor advertising customers, and in the event of a failure – to effectively eliminate any interference.

In the future, it is planned to implement the system throughout the whole chain of Statoil petrol stations in Lithuania.
