OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2014. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Andrian Candu met an Austrian delegation, led by Second President of National Council Karlheinz Kopf, the Economics Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

The officials addressed the current stage of the bilateral ties and cooperation prospects in the economic sector, in the context of implementation of the economic component of the Association Agreement with the European Union by Moldova.

Candu presented the cooperation and investment opportunities provided by Moldova in agriculture, industry, especially in car industry on the platform on the industrial parks and free economic zones, as well as in other sectors.

For his part, Karlheinz Kopf highlighted that Moldova’s economic development pace and described opportunities increased the interest of Austrian investors.

At the same time, the Austrian official welcomed the progress recorded by Moldova over the past period and voiced Austria’s support for the country’s European path.

At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to organise a meeting of the Moldovan-Austrian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation in Chisinau, next autumn.
