OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2014. The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) and the Romanian similar institution signed an action plan on food safety and communication strategy.

The document, which was signed in Chisinau, is the result of a mission on assessment of public information and communication needs in food safety, carried out by a delegation of specialists of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority of Romania (ANSVSA).

ANSA Director General Ion Sula underlined that this plan resulted from the institutional cooperation protocol signed between ANSA and ANSVSA in past March. “Due to the support provided by Romania’s government, we will be able to promote the Moldovan agro-food products both, especially, on the Romanian market and the European one, in general,” Sula said.

For his part, ANSVSA President Vladimir Manastireanu highlighted that the signing of „the action plan on development of a communication strategy in the sanitary veterinary and food safety area” would significantly contribute to set an efficient communication between the above-mentioned agencies.

“It is very important that the public gets trust into the agencies that ensure the food safety. And this plan, which we signed today, will be at the basis of a far-reaching programme on training the technical staff in the territory. It is necessary to make more efficient ANSA’s activity, as, in the near future – and I am confident about this – the Moldovan products will be supplied to the European market and will be consumed by the European citizens,” Manastireanu said.

By these activities, ANSVSA provides assistance to the Moldovan colleagues and government to work out a national communication strategy on European issues, which is meant to publicly inform and communicate about the benefits of the European integration process.
