OREANDA-NEWS. August 01, 2014. The circulation at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, via the Otaci-Moghiliov-Podolsk and Criva-Mamaliga check points, was resumed.

The press officer of the Customs Service, Alina Sargu specified that the Ukrainian roads leading to these border points were unblocked.

Late in the afternoon, the customs authorities urged business people and citizens, who planned to cross the Moldovan-Ukrainian border via the above-mentioned check points, to avoid them, as a result of the protests organised on Ukraine’s territory.

This was announced after hundreds of Ukrainian women, on 28 July, blocked the work of these two check points, thus voicing their dissatisfaction with a decree signed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenco, under which young people were to be mobilised in the army, in order to fight against pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine.
