Pertamina Sales and Trading Director Hanung Budya said that there were several things that should be handled carefully in distributing fuels and LPG in fasting month and Idul Fitri, including significant consumption increase which for Premium fuel could hit 136 percent compared to DOT in the peak of the homecoming season, traffic jams that could hinder the mobility of fuel tank trucks and LPG skid tank trucks and decline in public service obligation (PSO) fuel quota.

“According to the guideline from the government, for the fasting month and Idul Fitri, Pertamina will continue supplying PSO fuels in line with the demand from the people. Pertamina is ready to give the best service to customers by ensuring the security of stock and preparing well fuel and LPG distribution management to anticipate an increase in demand during the homecoming season and the return traffic,” he said.

For that purpose, Pertamina has established a taskforce to monitor the availability of fuels and the readiness of services to customers effective since 1 July to 12 August 2014.
