OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2014, IrAero airlines, the partner of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport, commences operation of direct scheduled flights from Novosibirsk to Novy Urengoy.

Flights will be performed on a comfortable CRJ-200 aircraft on a daily basis, each Thursday. Departure time of Flight RD 261 from Novosibirsk is 10:10 (local time), Flight RD 262 from Novy Urengoy - at 12:30 (local time).

Currently, Novosibirsk Tolmachevo airport offers two weekly flights performed on this route: besides Thursday services with IrAero airlines, there is another weekly flight to Novy Urengoy performed by UTair airlines each Saturday.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic terminal capacity makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the capacity on international flights - up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO CAT I and CAT II. In 2013 the passenger traffic exceeded 3.7 mln passengers and cargo traffic totalled 29.9 thousand tons of cargo and mail handled. In 2014 the airport expects to serve 4.2 mln passengers and handle over 32 thousand tons of cargo and mail.
