OREANDA-NEWS. On July 22, BUCE head office played host to the talks between top management of BUCE, Bellesbumprom, Belorusskaya Lesnaya Kompaniya and Armet (Turkey) regarding possible creation of a joint company that will focus on sales of the Belarusian timber in Turkey and other countries of the region.

It is noteworthy that Armet has become the 10th Turkish company accredited at BUCE and has recently purchased a sizable consignment of plywood manufactured by Mostovdrev. Halit Guran, CEO of the Turkish company, expressed interest in expanding cooperation with BUCE stressing that he is not going to focus entirely on timber and will be able to buy virtually any Belarusian products as long as they can be sold on the vast Turkish market. According to the Turkish businessman, he is ready to discuss any forms of interaction with the commodity exchange on mutually beneficial terms.

In his turn, Arkadi Salikov, Chairman of BUCE Board, assured the foreign guest that the commodity exchange is willing to assist his company with the search for reliable suppliers of high-quality Belarusian products. In this respect BUCE's exchange logistics system is going to play a major role, for it will enable the Turkish consumers of goods purchased via the commodity exchange to collect them at a warehouse in Turkey thus cutting the transportation costs and shortening the delivery period.

Following the talks, the sides reached an agreement that the Turkish company will carefully review the proposals voiced by BUCE and its partners and by the time of the next meeting a preliminary joint action plan will be prepared. The decision about creation of the joint company is yet to be made.
