FAW Group Finishes Construction of Truck Plant in South Africa
OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2014. FAW Group Corporation (FAW) announced that the construction of its Coega truck assembly plant in South Africa was finished, and the plant started to make trucks.
Jacob Zuma, South African President and Tian Xuejun, Chinese ambassador in South Africa were present at the ceremony for the first truck down the assembling line.
The plant, covering an area of 103,000 square meters and located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, will produce 5,000 medium and heavy trucks annually among which 40 percent will be sold in South Africa, and the rest will be exported to other countries and regions in Africa.
