OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2014. Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Andrian Candu was elected as president of the Energy Efficiency Fund (FEE), with the unanimous vote of the members of the FEE Board of Directors, the Economics Ministry’s information and media communication services has reported.

The participants in the meeting addressed a range of issues referring to the fund’s activity, namely the election of a new president and composition of the Investment Committee, hearing of the fund activity report for quarter II of 2014 and presentation of the work plan for the months to come.

Under the presented report, FEE is set to provide about 450 million lei by the end of 2014, in order to finance the projects on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources from the public and private sectors. Thus, within the No. 1 call for project proposals /APP/, 303 project proposals have been submitted to FEE, as a result of the evaluation and selection, 87 projects were approved for financing. Within the No. 3 call for project proposals, 443 project proposals in the public sector were submitted till 30 June 2014.

As regards the No. 4 call for project proposals for the private sector, launched on 5 June 2014, proposals are still collected. As much as 50 million lei will be provided within this call, of which 30 million lei will be offered as financial guarantees and another 20 million lei as grants. As to the No. 5 call for project proposals addressed to financing applicants from the public sector, in order to make more efficient the public lighting systems, the Board of Directors approved the extending of the deadline for proposals collection till 31 October 2014.

In the near future, FEE will sign all grant agreements with beneficiaries, who have been accepted for financing within the No. 1 APP, by initiating the procedure of monitoring of implementation of the projects stages. Also in the months to come, it is planned to disburse the financial resources for the projects implementation. Concomitantly, it will be carried out the procedure of assessment of projects submitted within the No. 3 APP 3. The first projects are to be proposed for approval to the Board of Directors in July-September 2014. At the same time, it will be organised the collection and initial evaluation of the project proposals within No. 5 APP.
