OREANDA-NEWS.  July 30, 2014. Air France and Garuda Indonesia signed a code-share agreement giving Air France customers:

- On their arrival in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, the possibility to continue their trip, with a wider choice of connecting flight times to Jakarta and Denpasar (Bali).

- The opportunity to fly to Surabaya-Juanda international airport (region of East Java) from Singapore.

Garuda Indonesia customers also have access to two French destinations, Paris and Nantes, on arrival at Amsterdam-Schiphol.

This new code-share strengthens the existing agreement with KLM

Thanks to a code-share agreement between KLM and Garuda Indonesia, KLM customers benefit from a wide choice of destinations in Indonesia (such as Surabaya or Balikpapan on the island of Borneo), and Australia (including Sydney and Brisbane). Garuda Indonesia customers have access to the KLM network from Amsterdam-Schiphol, and can continue their trip to European destinations including Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels, Paris or Rome.

Garuda Indonesia is the second airline from Southeast Asia to join the SkyTeam alliance, making Jakarta a new gateway to and from Southeast Asia. The Company also adds 40 new destinations to SkyTeam’s global network served exclusively by the alliance.

With some 500 daily flights and a fleet of close to 130 aircraft, Garuda Indonesia serves 64 destinations in 12 countries, including 40 domestic destinations. Its partnership with the other alliance members will allow SkyTeam customers from every continent to access Indonesia’s key business and tourist destinations.

The airline boosts SkyTeam’s presence in Australia, with flights to Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney; and in Tokyo, thanks to flights operated to Narita and Haneda airports.
