OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus has opted to shift the price brackets for filter-tipped cigarettes by 10%-10.9% on August 1, 2014, in accordance with a relevant ordinance adopted by President Lukashenko on July 17, 2014.

The price bracket for Price Group 1 filter tips will grow by 10%, Price Group 2 and 3 - up 10.9%.

Hence, Price Group 1 will refer to cigarettes priced below Br440,000 (USD 42.8) per 1,000 units (up from Br400,000). Price Group 2 will refer to cigarettes priced from Br440,000 to Br610,000 (USD 42.8-59.34) (up from Br400,000-550,000). Price Group 3 will refer to cigarettes priced above Br610,000 (USD 59.34) per 1,000 units (up from Br550,000).

At the same time, excise rates for all price groups will remain unchanged.
