OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2014. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has submitted a draft law amending the Law "On State Support of Agriculture", stated Ostap Semerak at a press briefing following a meeting of the Government.

The official explained that the bill was designed according to harmonization of Ukraine’s legislation to European standards. "We actually set new rules of competition. The core of changes is that small farms should under this law have the same rights and state support as large agricultural holdings", said Ostap Semerak.

"The state used to support only those farms that had not less than 1200 livestock capita or certain amounts of milk yield. Now all farms shall have exactly the same rights and privileges regardless of their size. We are seeking to stimulate private enterprise, small and medium-sized business in this field", noted the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers.
