New Tourist Attraction of Tulmozero Mining Plant Opens in Karelia
OREANDA-NEWS. Tulmozero plant built near the village of Kolatselga of Pryazha region in 1897 and closed more than a hundred years ago as the object of cast iron industry will open on August, 3 as a sightseeing attraction Tulmozero Mining Plant.
The grand opening and the first excursion around the unique monument of industrial history of Karelia will take place on August, 3, at 2:00 p.m., actors and singers from Karelia and Finland will perform within the framework of the International Music Festival on the stage of the Landscape Concert Hall.
Works on turning this territory into a park have been in progress for 2 years already within the scope of the Mining Road project of the Karelia European Neighbourhood Partnership Instrument program of cross-border cooperation (Karelia ENPI CBC) which leading partner is Institute of Geology of Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences at active support from the Administration of Pryazha national municipal region and State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Tourism.
