OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2014. The Moldovan-Belarusian consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers were held in Chisinau.

Moldova’s delegation was led by Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Valeriu Chiveri and Belarus’ one was headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandr Mihnevici, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication services has reported.

The talks agenda included issues referring to the Moldovan-Belarusian bilateral cooperation.

The sides highlighted the importance of keeping the positive dynamic of the bilateral ties, recorded over the past months, and spoke out for continuing and expanding the collaboration in areas of joint interest. The officials stressed the significant increase of the trade turnover and spoke out for identifying ways to making more dynamic the economic relations.

The two officials also underlined the importance of bilateral consultations in the context of creation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Moldova and the European Union. The negations are to be held on 22 July, with the participation of representatives of the Economics Ministry and Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry. This will allow avoiding possible different interpretations of provisions of the Free Trade Agreement, which will give the opportunity to fully use the advantages of the two economic areas, in order to ensure an ascendant development of the Moldovan-Belarusian economic ties.

At the same time, the sides also agreed on the agenda of high-ranking bilateral visits.
