OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2014. As the National Agency for energy regulation, the Agency welcomes the decision of the respective companies and considers that their example can be infectious and to other participants of the oil market.

According to the experts, one of the main reasons of reduction of prices is strengthening of the Moldovan leu vs. US dollar. As it reported before, leu strengthened in the last two weeks vs. dollar by 0.7%. According to the current legislation, prices for diesel fuel and liquefied gas are established directly by operators of the market.

At the same time, tariffs are set in accordance with the ANRE methodology for formation and recording oil prices. According to legislation, ANRE has the right to perform control over the compliance by importers and sellers of petroleum products.

The agency is also entitled to issue/withdraw of licenses, the right market monitoring, including exceeding the acceptable level of profitability of 10% stipulated by the method of calculation of the prices for the oil products.
