Moldova to Compensate Farmers due to Russia's Ban
OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2014. The Moldovan government will allocate 20 million lei to compensate farmers due to the introduction of Russia's ban on the supply of fruits and vegetables.
This decision of the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted at the extraordinary meeting on Monday in connection with the imposed by Rosselkhoznadzor and the Rospotrebnadzor ban on deliveries of canned and fresh fruit and vegetable products to Russian Federation.
The government approved the relevant amendments to the Law on the state budget for 2014, taking responsibility for this decision, taking into account the fact that deputies of the Parliament are at the summer holidays and will not be able to approve the bill.
The Prime Minister called for the creation of the effective mechanism of distributing the aid to prevent discrimination of economic agents. Iurie Leanca also said that the allocated government funds will be used for diversification of the export of Moldovan fruit and vegetable products.
