OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2014. Professionals of JSC TATNEFT has performed a considerable amount of work in the first half of 2014 to improve the environmental safety of crude oil production facilities.

JSC TATNEFT has produced 492.9 km of corrosion resistant pipes and 2,987.3 tons of corrosion inhibitors for six months of the current year of. Cathodic protection has been installed at 205 wells, as well as electrochemical protection has been arranged for 150.8 km of pipelines.

Particular attention has been traditionally paid to monitoring environmental conditions in the Company's areas of operations. In the course of implementing measures to protect water bodies benchmarks have been consistently maintained within established standards. The chemical and analytical laboratory of OOO "UPTZH for PPD" has performed 4,496 sample analyzes of surface and underground water bodies for the first half of the year.

Control of the air condition has been carried out a continuous basis at inhabited localities in the area of the JSC TATNEFT's activities in accordance with the approved schedule. 5,950 air sample analyses have been carried out for the six months period.

Achievements of the Company to ensure environmental safety at the crude oil production facilities in the first half of 2014 received awards at the federal and republican contests. JSC TATNEFT was awarded diplomas of the "National Environmental Prize for 2014" contest in the nominations "Accounting for sustainable development and environmental management" and "Ecology in Industry".
