OREANDA-NEWS. Lipetskcement, part of EUROCEMENT group, is acting as the primary provider of high quality cement for the reconstruction of an airstrip at the Lipetsk airport, which is estimated to become the longest in the Central Black Earth region. Currently, the overall quantity of cement delivered for the airport exceeds 18 thousand tons. For the realization of the project, Lipetskcement's Quality Center developed a special cement recipe corresponding to the client's strict requirements for durability and operational characteristics.

The reconstruction of the Lipetsk airport airstrip represents an increase in its length by half a kilometer. The overall length of the airstrip will amount to 2,800 meters, and its width 45 meters. As a result, Lipetsk airport will be able to accept high-capacity passenger planes.

In reconstructing the airstrip, concrete will be laid in two layers. The cement CEM I 42.5 N will be used in the construction of the first layer, exceptional for its increased resistance to frost and perfectly suited for the production of durable concrete with early mold removal. For laying the upper leveling layer, special cement has been prepared for the project's specific requirements, designed for making the concrete for the airfield's surface. The Quality Center at Lipetskcement is selecting the ingredients for the preparation of an exceptionally durable dry concrete with extra special care in collaboration with the client.

To meet the needs of the client, Lipetskcement is delivering cement in the group's cement trucks over an extended period of time (including at night) and unloading it into a separate silo to allow for the uninterrupted laying of the airfield.
