ccording to its Director Constantin Vieru, it aims to protect and promote interests of its members and other operators of markets of Moldova and Romania, to develop trade and industry, to ensure transparency and efficiency of doing business, to promote economic and trade relations between the two states and between its businessmen. Developing Romania’s market will lead to developing the market of the EU, Deputy Chair of CCIS of Moldova Vladimir Didilica said.

Thanks to this cooperation, Moldova will be able to enter the western market. The parties expect the CCI Moldova-Romania will become an effective tool to develop bilateral collaboration between them. Minister of small and medium business, environment and tourism of Romania Florin-Nicolae Jeanu pointed out that the total volume of investment by Romania in Moldova amounted to EUR 900 million approximately.

Romania is the second to Russia Moldova’s export partner, which exported to our country goods amounting to USD192.5 million. Romania was also the second to Russia import partner of Moldova, its share being USD 312.4 million. As InfoMarket reported earlier, in January-May 2014, Moldova’s exports to Romania made up USD 165.2 million, up 9.4% versus the same period of 2013.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the reporting period deliveries to Romania from Moldova were 17% of the total export from the country, up 1.1 p.p. against 2013. At the same time, deliveries from Romania to Moldova made up a total of USD 293.4 million (16.8% up), being 14% of the total Moldovan import against 11.7% recorded in the same period of 2013.
