OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2014. The Jizzakh-based enterprise Euroasia Karpet produces 1 million 800 thousand square meters of carpets of various sizes and 2 thousand tons of polypropylene fiber.

Goods worth 1 million 750 thousand US dollars were exported in 2013.

“The demand for domestically made products has been rising from one year to another,” says the head of regional economy department T.Abdunazarov. “Today, enterprises of our region produce socks, bed sheets, towels, apparel and dozens of other types of knit that used to be imported in old days. Special attention is paid to the establishment of enterprises to manufacture final goods and semi-finished products from local raw materials and crudes. In 2013, more than 4 thousand new jobs were created owing to 66 projects implemented in the sphere of light industry. To date, 273 light industry enterprises operate in the region.”

The establishment of production enterprises in remote villages serves as an important factor in providing women and youths with jobs and boosting the wellbeing of population. Notably, hundreds of young people have received jobs at the enterprise Yangiobod Chevarlari founded in Yangiabad district, the enterprises Ikbolkhon-Marjona in Mirzachul district and FОР-ТЕХ in Farish district.

In 2014, in accordance with the program to further promote the industrial potential of the region, 237 projects are intended for realization, including the commissioning of 64 light industry enterprises. Around 550 new jobs have been created as a result of launching 31 such enterprises.

All this constitutes a practical outcome of the consistent works being marshaled under the leadership of President Islam Karimov to modernize production enterprises and promote small business and private entrepreneurship.
