OREANDA-NEWS. The delegation of the Latvian Republic, headed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the delegation of Iceland, headed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, visited INTERPIPE STEEL electric steel-melting complex on July 17, in the run-up to the Metallurgist Day. Both delegations came to Dnipropetrovsk with an official visit.

In the framework of their visit to INTERPIPE STEEL members of both delegations had a traditional walking tour around the production facility, got acquainted with innovative steel-melting technologies, and saw contemporary art objects, designed and created by world-known artist Olafur Eliasson. All guests paid specific attention to the cultural component of the mill - the author of all installations has Icelandic roots, and this country exerted significant influence upon his works and creativity.

“First of all, I would like to note that I am truly impressed by the high technological level of the mill. Its products are exported to Europe and the USA, and I hope that development and strengthening of commercial relations between Ukraine and the European Union will be continued. Secondly, it was a real discovery for me that pieces of art could be also found at this production facility. In certain extent this idea impresses and amazes me even more than the entire state-of-the-art manufacturing process at the mill”, - Latvian Minister for Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs commented.

“I was very happy to attend this high-tech production facility and was truly surprised by the fact that several art objects, related to metallurgy and created by the famous Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson, were skillfully transformed into an integral part of the enterprise' s concept. INTERPIPE STEEL mill is a wonderful example of modern Ukraine and the future it strives for”, - Icelandic Minister for Foreign Affairs Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson stated.
