OREANDA-NEWS.  Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute signed MoU with US-based Southern Company Services Inc. regarding near-zero emissions technology cooperation.

According to the MoU, both parties will carry out technology cooperation on IGCC, CCUS, and heavy metal control and low-quality coal utilization in coal-fired plants, so as to make contribution to clean coal technology development.

Before signing the MoU, Hu Jianmin, Vice President of China Huaneng Group, met with Mark Lantrip, Vice President of Southern Company. Both parties exchanged views on deepening cooperation on advanced technologies such as IGCC and CCUS, and facilitating clean development and international energy security.
