GAZ Group Delivers to Ministry of Interior 1st Batch of Ural-4320VV
OREANDA-NEWS. July 18, 2014. The first batch of Ural-4320VV armored vehicles was delivered to the customer (the Chief Command of the Interior Forces of the Ministry of Interior).
The keys of the vehicles were handed over to the First Deputy of the Minister – Commander in Chief of the Russian Interior Forces General-Colonel Viktor Zolotov at Ural plant within the limits of celebration of the 70th anniversary of the first Ural vehicle.
The keys of Ural-4320VV vehicles were handed over to the Command of the Ministry of Interior were handed over by the Managing Director of Ural plant Viktor Kadylkin. Deputy Chief Commander of Russian Interior Forces for Armament Sergey Erygin, Head of Tank-Automotive Command of Russian Interior Forces Alexey Bezzubikov took part in the ceremony. Within the limits of the ceremony four plant workers, who had taken part in development and creation of the vehicle, were awarded by the Russian Ministry of Interior.
Ural-4320VV armored vehicledeveloped by Ural plant engineers according to the technical assignment of the Russian Ministry of Interior had been first represented at "Russian exhibition of weapons" in Nizhny Tagil in 2013. The new development had passed required tests successfully the same year.
Configuration of Ural-4320VV provides for installation of various option of weapon stations or equipment depending on service & combat tasks. One-box body of the transport version of the vehicle is designed for up to 17 fully equipped soldiers. Well-proven chassis of multipurpose Ural-4320, powerful YaMZ Euro-4 engine provide a modern technical level and high reliability of the vehicle. Ural-4320VV has heavy powerful ballistic and mine protection. In future this vehicle may become a basis for an entire family of highly unified tactical armored vehicles with various wheel arrangements (4х4, 6х6 and 8х8).
The commanders of the Ministry of Interior were also introduced to serial and future products of Ural plant: armored vehicles of Typhoon-U family, revamped all-wheel drive Ural-М, high duty Ural-6370, multipurpose Ural-542301 with 8х8 wheel arrangement.
First Deputy of the Minister – Commander in Chief of the Russian Interior Forces General-Colonel Viktor Zolotov said: "In the course of joint work with Ural plant we developed Ural-4320VV vehicle, which has gone off the line today. It combines the work of the plant employees and Ministry of Interior. It is an excellent vehicle; it is highly bullet-proof, mine-proof, reliable, easy to maintain. It is essential, and it is the vehicle needed by the Interior Forces". According to Commander in Chief of the Russian Interior Forces, the Interior Forces are currently operating more than two thousand Ural vehicles of various models, which makes more than 50% of the total truck fleet of the Forces, moreover their major part is used under severe road conditions of North Caucasus Region of the Russian Federation.
The Managing Director of GAZ Group Ural plant Viktor Kadylkin said: "The Ministry of Interior is one of our strategic partners. In cooperation with them we are developing and improving the technical level of manufactured vehicles. The engineering office of the plant is making progress and developing implementing requirements of the defense authorities, and some engineering solutions are also used in work on commercial vehicles".
