OREANDA-NEWS. Total gas sales volume by Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. for the month of June 2014 came to about 1,137.889 million m3, up 12.7% to that in June 2013.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 188.392 million m3, down 1.7% from June 2013, due to higher average temperature compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the decreased demand for water-heating.

In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), volume totaled 187.400 million m3, up 1.1% from June 2013, due to higher average temperature* compared to that in the same period last year, leading to the increased demand for air-conditioning.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 586.582 million m3, up 25.5% from June 2013, due to the increased demand for power generation.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 175.514 million m3, up 6.1% from June 2013, due to the increased demand of the other companies.
