Petrobras Unifies Brand Globally
OREANDA-NEWS. Petrobras started the global brand unification process at our worldwide operations this week. Brands with Petrobras in blue, which hitherto had been used internationally, will cease to exist, leaving only the logo in which our name appears in green with the BR to the left in green and yellow. The substitution will be done progressively over the next six months.
In the 1970s, our holding company and Petrobras Distribuidora used their own symbols. With the growth of the distribution area and the increase in the number of service stations nationwide, BR soon became known by the population, which identified us through this symbol. In the early 1990s, research done by Petrobras Distribuidora showed that the acceptance and recognition of the BR symbol had surpassed that of our brand's hexagon-rhombus. In 1994, we decided to add the BR symbol for the entire Petrobras System.
