OREANDA-NEWS. Transaero Airlines - a partner of Moscow Domodedovo Airport - operated the greatest number of flights without delays and won the punctuality contest following the results of June 2014. Among the most punctual airlines there were Rossiya, Izhavia, Pskovavia, Lufthansa, Azerbaijan Airlines, Dniproavia, and Japan Airlines which entered the winners' circle for the first time.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport sums up the Most Punctual Airlines Contest on a monthly basis in eight categories - depending on frequency of flights and maximum take-off mass of aircraft.Transaero Airlines demonstrated the best performance in the first category as they operated 1,317 on-time flights. Rossiya became the winner in the second category - 223 flights without delays. Izhavia Airlines operated 93 punctual flights and became the winner in the third category. In June Pskovavia operated 12 flights without delays and headed the fourth category of the contest.

Foreign airlines, partners of Moscow Domodedovo Airport, contested in a separate group. Lufthansa became the most punctual airline company among foreign airlines as it operated 188 on-time flights. Azerbaijan Airlines operated 111 dead-on-time flights and were ranked next. Also among the winners there were such companies as Dniproavia (59 punctual flights) and Japan Airlines (18 punctual flights).

Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been holding the monthly Most Punctual Airlines Contest over a period of more than 6 years, and it is an effective tool for improving the quality of the air carrier service. During the contest period, the number of partners of the air hub increased by one third. As of early July 2014, 87 airlines operate flights to 242 domestic and international destinations from Moscow Domodedovo Airport, 88 out of which are unique for the Moscow Air Transportation Cluster.
