OREANDA-NEWS.  July 16, 2014. Lately, BOC became the first bank in the country to launch the new-generation intelligent mobile payment terminal – mPOS, which combines the functions of the traditional POS machine with the application of intelligent mobile terminals, amid cooperation with China UnionPay and Visa. By using the mPOS to connect mobile devices, merchants make it possible to swipe cards for consumption without the traditional POS machine.

BOC's mPOS is managed by App terminals, and its customized product can provide integrated acquiring services for merchants covering China UnionPay and Visa cards, as well as convenience for micro merchants, and medium-sized and large chain merchants. So far, BOC's mPOS has been put into use at the pilot merchants in Beijing, Shenzhen and Haikou, and will be promoted in other major cities across the country.

Small in size, the mPOS can work when connected to smart phones or tablet computers with the blue tooth or audio cable. After successfully swiping his card, a cardholder may sign his electronic signature on the screen of his smart phone or tablet computer, or receive the sales slip through his smart phone or tablet computer. Compared with the POS machine which relies on the traditional mobile communication network, the mPOS achieves a faster speed by using mobile phone or PAD to transmit data.

BOC's mPOS has met the security certification standards of China UnionPay, and passed the certification of the 'Visa Ready Partner Program'. It can offer convenient, safe and trendy payment experience to customers.

As the only commercial bank in China with uninterrupted operations for over one hundred years, BOC has made its brand concept of "global services" take firm root in the hearts of people. Over the years, BOC has always committed itself to providing the optimal payment experience to customers, and was also the first Chinese bank that issued and accepted e-payment cards.
