OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2014. The government of Moldova at the meeting on Friday decided to start negotiations on signing of the contract on financing between the Republic of Moldova and the EIB for the project Livada Moldovei, as well as establish a group of negotiators, headed by the Deputy Minister of agriculture and food industry Vlad Loginin.

It was instructed to hold negotiations with EIB for funding from the named Bank in a short time on the favorable terms. The authority to sign the named agreement on financing is granted to the Minister of Finance Anatoly Arapu. According to the Minister of agriculture and food industry Vasile Bumacov, it is planned that the funds of EIB to implement the project Livada Moldovei will be used to support the creation and modernization of gardens, acquisition of modern equipment for production, storage, sorting, packing, marking, transportation of fruits, energy efficiency and other measures for the development of horticulture. It should be noted that within the framework of cooperation of Moldova with the EIB was previously running 9 investment projects for the total amount of 282 million euros in the field of road infrastructure, wine-making sector, modernization of public transport in Chisinau, drinking water number of settlements, lending to small and medium enterprises.

In particular, the project of the "Wine route" a total value of 75 million euros, intended to support and modernization of the Moldovan wine industry, improve the competitiveness of Moldovan wines in key markets, growth and diversification of their exports. It is planned that the new project Livada Moldovei will support all Moldovan agriculture and especially the horticulture industry, including the establishment of new plantations, investment in post-harvest infrastructure, production and logistics.
