BOC Ranks 7th among Top 1000 World Banks
OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2014. The Banker, a British magazine, released its rankings of the "Top 1000 World Banks" for 2014. BOC was ranked 7th by tier-1 capital totaling USD149.729 billion, up 23% over 2013. Its ranking also moved up by 2 places.
The "Top 1000 World Banks" rankings issued by The Banker magazine measure banks against their tier-1 capital, which has become a universal key yardstick to evaluate banks' ability to grant big loans and withstand shocks as well as their comprehensive strength.
Affiliated with the Financial Times Group in the UK, The Banker is one of the world-renowned magazines in the banking and financial industry. It has access to the databases of over 4,000 banks worldwide, and releases the "Top 1000 World Banks" rankings each year by analyzing the core capital, profitability and performance amid industry competition of banks in different countries and regions.
