The Charity Run is open for registration starting today via www.siacharityrun.com.sg. Through the website, registrants also have the option of making additional donations to Community Chest, which supports 226 social service programmes that help over 300,000 beneficiaries. These include children with special needs and youths-at-risk, people with disabilities, frail and lonely elderly, and families facing difficulties.
The Charity Run is being held in the lead-up to Singapore’s 50th birthday in 2015, in tandem with the Care & Share Movement under which net proceeds will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Singapore Government. Part of the SG50 calendar of events, this movement led by Community Chest aims to bring the nation together to show care and concern for those in need.
