OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2014. Sixty-nine employees from Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Miass, Ulianovsk, Likino and other cities participated in the final of the Science and Technology Conference of GAZ Group Young Specialists.

The participants presented 47 projects on such GAZ Group business areas as lean production, implementation of best practices, IT development and efficient use of resources. The projects were assessed according to the level of their development, innovation, savings and implementation in production. For the first time, students of GAZ Group specialized colleges took part in the conference and also presented their projects on solution of real production issues.

The main purpose of the GAZ Group Science and Technology Conference is to search for the young specialists with high potential in science and technology, who work for GAZ Group companies, to involve them into solution of acute production issues, as well as to activate their creativity in science and technology and ability to find ingenious technical solutions increasing products’ customer value. The conference gives employees an additional opportunity to share their experience and personal achievements, and to show them both to their colleagues and top-managers who assessed the projects as jury members. The conference participants are direct workers, engineers, process engineers, IT and HR specialists, as well as buyers of GAZ Group Divisions and service companies below 35 years.

The team of Unified Engineering Centre (Yury Shudin and Svetlana Sokova) took the first place in the nomination “Technologies and Innovation: Modern Project Planning” with their project on optimal front end design development for Ural with new cab. Another UEC team (Ivan Kladov, Tatiana Gushchina and Ivan Burov) took the first place in the nomination “Technologies and Innovation: Modern Production Processes” with the project dedicated to product development via virtual modeling. The team of GAZ Plant (Vladimir Pleshakov, Alexandr Arenin, Alexey Salnikov and Anatoly Zhukov) showed the best results in the nomination “GAZ Production System” and represented their project “Mastering of GAZ-3302 Assembly at the First Conveyor”. Maxim Kuzyaev from GAZ Group Consulting Centre took the first place in the IT nomination with his concept of corporate network service development. The project on efficient production area and HR use developed by Andrey Khaydurov and Iliya Pushkin (VW/Skoda project of GAZ Plant) was deemed the best in the nomination “Efficient Resource Use”. Students of the Moscow State Technological University “Stankin“ together with the Bus Division developed a multi-purpose equipment for SMED of milling tool that took the first place in the section “Engineering Project”.

The project by Alina Solovieva (UEC) dedicated to engineering thermoplastics use was deemed the best in the nomination “Investigative Approach to Development”. Mikhail Chernyaev presented a project on increased LCV cooling system efficiency. The project by Dmitry Moshkov (UEC) on low-cost instrument panel heater development won the nomination “Contribution into Product Development”. The project by Alexey Malyshev (Ulianovsk Motor Plant) dedicated to test rig modernization was deemed the best in the nomination “Contribution into Product Quality Increase”. Elena Antonova (Consulting Centre) with the project on automated purchasing invoice acceptance was the best in the nomination “Progressive Thinking”.

Students also presented a range of interesting projects. The team of the Industrial Technologies Institute of the Nizhny Novgorod Technical University (Vladislav Balashov and Nikita Kosenkov) took the first place in the nomination “On the Way to Success” with their project “Automated Transport and Logistics System of Component Supply to Assembly Conveyors”.

The conference winners were awarded with certificates and bona.
