OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2014. Vainamere Liinid, the company operating ferries on the routes connecting Estonia’s two largest islands to the mainland, said he is mulling adding one or two additional ferries to the current three vessels currently on the routes.

The company’s head, Urmas Treiel, told Saarte Haal that it plans to take part in the public tender announced by the Ministry of Economic Affairs a week ago for the ferry routes connecting Saaremaa and Hiiumaa to the mainland. The terms and conditions of the tender state that the routes require at least four ferries specifically built for the tender or already in use at least 86 months.

Vainamere Liinid currently has three ferries that meet these requirements.
