OREANDA-NEWS. Medium-term budget planning is not possible in Belarus so far, however individual ministries could exercise the strategy in the form of pilot projects. Mikhail Prokhorik of the Finance Ministry's Consolidated Budget Department, made a statement to this effect at a financial conference on Tuesday.

Medium-term budget planning calls for relevant medium-term macroeconomic programmes, which are not available, Prokhorik said. There was an attempt in 2011 to change over from 5-year budget plans to 3-year floating budget plans, however the parties found it difficult to implement, so they gave up the idea.
