Customs Office Opens in Chusovoy
OREANDA-NEWS. A customs office has opened on the territory of the Chusovoy Metallurgical Works (CMW Open Joint Stock Company, based in the Perm Region, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK CJSC, Moscow). The office was relocated from a neighboring town to Chusovoy as part of the integrated Pipe and Steel-Melting Complex project (PSMC).
Over three thousand vehicles will deliver the equipment required for building the Pipe and Steel-Melting Complex in Chusovoy over the course of two years. In the long run, PSMC and CMW are expected to turn into large exporters of metallurgical products. The availability of its own customs office plays a pivotal role for PSMC while construction and operation are taking place.
The new location of the customs office is considerably more convenient for vehicles than the previous one in the town of Lysva. The OMK site, located at the entry to Chusovoy, will prevent heavy trucks from driving through the town, and will reduce the costs for the cargo carriers.
“The availability of a customs office in Chusovoy, in the vicinity of the construction site, will help optimize the customs procedure for cargos being delivered under foreign trade contracts. This will lower the costs and will facilitate the customs procedure, which is of key importance for the PSMC, the biggest investment project in Russia's ferrous metallurgy industry today,” said OMK President Vladimir Markin.
