OREANDA-NEWS.   Power Machines OJSC and Irkutskenergo OJSC have signed a contract to supply four sets of hydro turbine runners, required to renovate Ust-Ilimskaya HPP.

The signing of the contract was preceded by a tender, won by Power Machines with the best technical and economic solution.       

Under the terms of the contract, Power Machines will design, manufacture and supply four combined radiaxial flow runners with improved energy, cavitation and strength properties for hydro turbines, and will also provide supervision services for the equipment supplied.

Supplies are scheduled to begin in Q2 2016 and to complete in Q4 2017.

With the renewal of runners, the efficiency of hydro power units will increase to 96.7% at a design water head of 86.5 meters and a hydro power unit’s capacity of 240 MW.

Ust-Ilimskaya HPP is currently operating 16 hydro power units with turbines and generators manufactured in the 1970s by Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila of Power Machines.
