OREANDA-NEWS. Shwe Taung Group, one of Myanmar's leading corporations, together with NEC Asia Pacific, a wholly owned NEC Corporation subsidiary and leading Singapore-based IT and network solutions provider, today announced their provision of network and security infrastructure for the Myanmar International Convention Centre in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital of Myanmar. NEC Asia Pacific is the main information and communications technology (ICT) provider for the convention centre.

The Myanmar International Convention Centre is a newly completed 60,000 square meter convention and exhibition centre that recently held the ASEAN Summit 2014, which Myanmar hosted for the first time.

NEC Asia Pacific developed a comprehensive ICT infrastructure for the convention centre, consisting of network and security infrastructure, integrated voice, data and video services, and a master clock system for the Myanmar government. NEC's sophisticated integrated security and safety system consists of access control system solutions utilising contactless smartcard technology, as well as surveillance systems consisting of intelligent video camera solutions. The master clock system enables time synchronisation of all devices within the centre's ICT infrastructure. NEC will provide comprehensive maintenance and support for these critical services, including helpdesk and event support.

Training for using the systems will be provided to Nay Pyi Taw City Development Council staff and the local team in charge of maintenance in both English and the local Myanmar language.
