OREANDA-NEWS. July 04, 2014. According to the latest figures, the Russian Railways' infrastructure carried 96.4 m passengers in June 2014, 9.2% less than in June 2013. Suburban passenger numbers amounted to 86.7 m, 9.3% less than in June 2013. Long-distance passengers also fell by 8.1% to 9.7 m.

Passenger turnover in June 2014 amounted to 12.6 billion passenger-kilometres, which is 10.9% less than the same month in 2013.

In January-June 2014, the Russian Railways' infrastructure carried 516.3 m passengers, an increase of 0.4% compared to January-June 2013, with suburban passenger numbers rising 1.3% to 469.3 m, while long-distance passengers fell 7.9% to 47 1 m.

Passenger turnover on the Russian Railways' network since the beginning of 2014 decreased by 7.2% compared to last year and amounted to 57.3 billion passenger-kilometers.
