ABBYY Demonstrates Commitment to Japanese Market
OREANDA-NEWS. ABBYY®, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies and professional services, today announced that it has achieved the designation of Kabushiki Kaisha (KK) corporation in Japan. With the recognition as a KK in Japan, ABBYY has been certified as a stock company in the Japanese market and will begin operating under the name ABBYY Japan Co. Ltd. in the country.
“Japan has been a key market for us since our in country office opened,” said Dean Tang, CEO of ABBYY USA. “Achieving KK status in Japan puts us in position to further grow within the country by building healthy, long-lasting relationships with OEM vendors and resellers alike.”
ABBYY first opened its Japan office in 2006 and has worked closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), resellers and end-user organizations since then to help them gain greater value from information with innovative document recognition and data capture technologies. With its designation as a KK company, ABBYY Japan Co. Ltd. will look to expand within the region to address new uses cases in mobile and cloud computing, build out its translation services and introduce new products leveraging new linguistically-based intelligence solutions. In addition, ABBYY Japan Co. Ltd. will also create a more focused local customer support program, enabling Japanese companies to better benefit from their optical character recognition (OCR), text transformation and data capture initiatives.
