OREANDA-NEWS. July 03, 2014. The GAZ Plant in Nizhny Novgorod was visited by Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation Rudiger von Fritsch. The visit to the plant was part of the Ambassador’s official visit to Nizhny Novgorod.

TheGermanyAmbassadorvisitedtheproductionfacilitymanufacturingVolkswagenandSkoda cars in cooperation with Volkswagen Group Rus as well as the productionfacilityofMercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles manufactured under the joint project with Daimler. Theproduction of the key GAZ product – new generation GAZelle NEXT LCV – was also shown to the guest.

"I can say that the heart of Russia beats in different cities. It is also felt here, in Nizhny Novgorod. I was especially glad to see how the cooperation between Russia and Germany is organized. We live in a politically challengeable time, and that is why it is very important to know where are the points of contact. Economic cooperation is a very strong connection between our countries. I am very grateful that Mr. Sorokin, GAZ Group President, found the time to make a plant tour for us in person. I am impressed by the scale of changes that were made at GAZ to organize the cutting-edge production. I am sure that it became possible due to the people working here. I would like to express the profound respect for them".
