OREANDA-NEWS.  July 03, 2014. As it was informed in the National Bureau of statistics, the share of the urban area accounted for 31 million 719,4 thousand square meters (39,3% of the total housing stock), rural locations - 48 million 895,2 thousand square meters (60,7%).

The Residential Fund of Moldova comprises 1 million 318,4 thousand apartments, 41,1% of which in urban localities, 57.8% in the rural area. From the total number of the apartments, 10.5% - are one room apartments, 32,2% - two, 36,3% - three room flats and 21%- four or more room apartments.

The largest share of housing privately owned by citizens and legal entities amounted to USD 97.6% of the total housing stock of Moldova.
