OREANDA-NEWS. New power units have been officially launched at Belovskaya SDPP and Tom-Usinskaya SDPP of Siberian Generating Company (SGC) in Kemerovo Oblast. The launch ceremony was attended by the Governor of Kemerovo Oblast Aman Tuleyev and SGC General Director Mikhail Kuznetsov.

The renovation of Belovskaya SDPP and Tom-Usinskaya SDPP is part of the large-scale investment program, adopted by Siberian Generating Company. The implementation of these projects will improve the reliability of the entire power system in Kuzbass region and reduce power supply interruption risks due to the shortage of generating equipment, which is especially relevant for the south of Kuzbass.

Primary generating equipment was supplied to Belovskaya SDPP and Tom-Usinskaya SDPP by Power Machines. The contracts to supply steam turbines and turbine generators for SGC’s power plants were signed between Power Machines and SGC Group in 2010.

In performing the contracts, Power Machines supplied two steam turbines with a capacity of 120 MW each for units 4 and 5 of Tom-Usinskaya SDPP and also two turbines with a capacity of 225 MW each with two turbine generators for units 4 and 6 of Belovskaya SDPP.

In 2012 the companies enhanced their cooperation by signing supplemental agreements to supply condensers and auxiliary power equipment sets for power units 4 and 6 of Belovskaya SDPP and also auxiliary power equipment sets for power units 4 and 5 of Tom-Usinskaya SDPP. Installation supervision and general supervision services by specialists of Power Machines were also included in the scope of primary equipment.

Furthermore, Taganrog Boiler-Making Plant Krasny Kotelshchik of Power Machines manufactured and supplied four groups of high-pressure heaters complete with quick-acting protections for the turbine sets of Belovskaya SDPP and Tom-Usinskaya SDPP. The heaters are designed to withstand up to intensity 8 seismic activity.

Installation activities are currently drawing towards completion at unit 6 of Belovskaya SDPP and unit 4 of Tom-Usinskaya SDPP. They will have been launched into service by the end of 2014.
