OREANDA-NEWS. L&T Construction has won new orders worth 2002 crores across various business segments in June 2014.

Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business:

The Heavy Civil Infrastructure business has bagged orders worth 1547 crores.

A prestigious order has been bagged from the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited for the design and construction of a cable stayed bridge across river Mandovi at Panaji. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone on June 14, 2014, along with Mr. Manohar Parrikar, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa. The highlights of this 900m four lane bridge will be a 550 m cable stay portion and a 3.2 km viaduct approach.

Commenting on the order, Mr. S.N. Subrahmanyan, Sr. Executive Vice President (Infrastructure and Construction), L&T, said "the cable stay bridge will significantly expand infrastructure in Goa to further drive tourism and economic development in the state. It also reaffirms our stature of being 'Builders of the new India'."

Additional orders have also been received from various ongoing jobs.

Power Transmission & Distribution Business:

The Power transmission business has bagged orders worth 392 crores in both domestic and international markets.

The domestic order is from the Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited for a turnkey construction of a new 220 /132 kV transmission line between Kanti-Motipur-Muzaffarpur-Bhikanpura in Bihar.

A key international order has been bagged by L&T Saudi Arabia LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited for engineering, procurement and construction of a high voltage substation network for a major fertilizer company in Saudi Arabia.

Additional orders have also been received from an ongoing job of Water & Renewable Energy Business.
