OREANDA-NEWS. July 02, 2014. By results of 5 months the wire shipments accounted for about 109 %  of the same period of past year figures. This result has been obtained owing to a competent job of Sales Departments and Commodity Distribution Network. The constant quality  improvement activities are an integral part of wire product competitiveness.

The tyre producers using steel cord and bronze-plated bead wire of BMZ  as reinforcing materials, constantly improve  their productive efficiency, product quality and decrease production costs.

In compliance with customers requirements the workers of BMZ also  give special attention to technology upgrading that allows to improve wire quality level. For example, a number of relevant activities was carried out at Wire Plant-1 for this purpose. The specialists of Wire Plant-1 together with Research Center and Technical Dpt. were improving the steel cord quality by straightness and residual torsion and were regulating  these parameters after the stress relaxation. The  multifunctional team of specialists from Research Center, Central Laboratory, Technical Dpt. and  engineers of Wire Plant-was created.

The research works were conducted at all stages of steel cord production. As a result a new evaluation criterion of patenting furnace adjustment, the program  of equipment modernization were developed at fine drawing area and stranding area. The modernization of 20 fine drawing machines allowed to stable and improve such wire properties as stationarity and straightness that brought good results of stranding equipment adjustment.

The upgrade of stranding equipment was carried outin a few stages followed by finished product testing and analysis of results. After performing a  number of activities, the specialists succeeded in straightness stabilizing through all winding length per spool even after stress relaxation.

The trial lots of this steel cord were produced, shipped to customers and showed good results.  At present the modernization continues at Wire Plant-1.

In addition to improving the product quality properties, the specialists also meet high requirements for package at Wire Plant-1

The package of bronze plated wire that is supplied in coils has been upgraded to except  damages during transportation.  The material and the packaging technique of wire in coils  have been changed to increase the corrosion protection under the impact of  precipitation.

The team of specialists of Technical Dpt., Research Center and Wire Plants are carring  out the packaging improvements of steel cord and hose wire.
