EuroSibEnergo Plans to Launch Solar Power Plant in December
OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC EuroSibEnergo plans to launch a solar power plant in Abakan in December 2014. The facility comprising over 22 thousand photovoltaic modules will have a capacity of 5.198 MW. The project ranked among the winners selected in the first competition of investment projects to construct power generating facilities using renewable energy pursuant to Decree No. 449 of the Government of the Russian Federation on the Mechanism for the Promotion of Renewable Energy on the Wholesale Electricity and Capacity Market dated May 28, 2013. The cost of the project totals about RUB 600 mln.
Companies forming part of the Group perform all work involved in the project, including: the full range of engineering research on the construction site; developing designs and specifications and obtaining all necessary approvals and permits; developing a plan for technological connection and power transfer; implementing a set of measures to develop an Automated Information and Metering System for Commercial Energy Metering (AIMS CEM) and obtaining a certificate confirming compliance of this system with the requirements of the WECM; construction, installation, tests and adjustments, including assembly and installation of major equipment. To ensure that the project meets local content requirements, the relevant equipment has been purchased and own facilities have been created to produce multicrystalline silicon required for manufacturing photovoltaic cells.
Besides, LLC Krasnoyarsk HPP-Engineering, a subsidiary of EuroSibEnergo-Engineering, has concluded a cooperation agreement with CJSC Schneider Electric and assembles and tests inverter systems on its manufacturing site using components supplied by CJSC Schneider Electric. This helps not only to ensure that the current project meets local content requirements but also to address the needs of third-party customers as part of other projects launched following competitive selection by OJSC TSA.
Vyacheslav Solomin, CEO of OJSC EuroSibEnergo: “The fact that the government and large power companies attach importance to projects of this kind proves that environmentally friendly technologies for renewable energy production are a major priority. Moreover, the launch of the Abakanskaya power plant will contribute to the development of the region, where new jobs are already being created.”
