OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2014. The agreement is aimed at creating favourable legal environment for promotion and mutual protection of investments, improving the investment climate and further development of mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation between the two countries,Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev said at a plenary session of the Senate.

The agreement provides for rules concerning expropriation, nationalization, investor compensation and dispute resolution, and provisions which regulate in detail the procedure for formation of an international tribunal, organized for the purpose of resolving disputes between the Parties.

From 2005 to 2013, gross inflows of Estonian investments in Kazakhstan amounted to USD 48.3 million. Gross outflow of direct investment in Estonia from Kazakh direct investors amounted to USD 1.3 million during 2005-2013.

The volume of Kazakh-Estonian turnover amounted to USD 34.4 million in 2013.

Kazakhstan's export to Estonia amounted to USD 4.7 million in 2013.

Import from Estonia to Kazakhstan amounted to USD 29.7 million in 2013.
